Perscription Tongs
This is a new adventure for Rex and myself. For the last 15 yrs Rex has been cutting tong blanks out on his CNC plasma table for himself and friends. He would like to share his designs with everyone. All tong blanks here are cut from 3/8"HR plate and even the new smiths can finish them in about 1hr. All blanks are $15.00 + shipping except the RX15 that are $17.00. All tongs can be made using the following steps.
1. Round the handles
(Standard length will be 12"-13" reins)
(RX10 & RX11 around 10" reins)
2. Twist the jaws in the same direction for both blanks.
(Except Rail Road spike tongs they go opposite twists)
3. Finish the jaws to whatever shape you want.
4. Drill or punch a 5/16" hole and set the rivet that is provided.
5. Adjust handle and jaw alignment.
We plan to expand our line as we go but for now we will be starting out with 15 pairs. We will also be providing a few custom tools for making the tongs. Direct order please state tongs you want and I will quote you pricing.

RX01 is the best starter pair of tongs and suspect it will be our best seller. The front jaws are long and meaty enough to allow you to design many different pairs from one.

RX02

Bolt Tongs can be made to hold both round and square stock.
RX03
Small bolt tongs. They can be sized to hold up to 1/2"
RX04
Large Bolt Tongs. The range on these tongs 1/2" to 1"
RX05
RR Spike tongs. When making these tongs the jaws need to be turned in opposite directions. Tapering the outside of the tongs allows for other uses.

RX06
Box Tongs used for flat stock.
RX07
Tusk Tongs commonly used for knife making. Great for holding bar stock

RX08
Off Set Tongs. Much like bolt Tongs but holds stock to the side. Good for knife makers or anytime working with longer stock.
RX09
Fire tongs. Great for holding flat stock or horseshoes.
RX10
Small tongs to do fine work. Can be made to hold both flat and round stock. Don't know you have to have several sets of these. Never realized how many times I needed to hold small items.
RX11

Scrolling Tongs are one of the easier sets to make and great for getting that small tweak in your project.
RX12
Double Box Tongs. Made for bar stock very securely. You could make them to hold 2 different sizes of bar stock.
RX13
Pick Up Tongs. Allow you to grab all the items you need to hold on too.
RX14
Hole in Bolt Tongs. hole allows for quicker shaping of the jaws.
RX15
Hammer Tongs. This set of tongs is our most expensive pair. 17.00 USD
